"Let them taste the terror they make us swallow." The hype kinda ruined my reading experience this time. I found myself wondering if the book was worth the overwhelming hype more than once and the answer is both yes and no. Yes, because it deals with very important topics well, the writing is good and Amari is amazing (Zélie grew on me but I couldn't stand her in the beginning with her constant snapping and taking the worst possible decisions). Plus, I really enjoyed Zélie and Tzain tender moments and sibling bond and his relationship with Amari. No, because I expected something flawless, a masterpiece, but the author fell in some typical debut clichés, instalove being to most evident, ugh. Zélie's endgame better be Roën, I like him a lot and he has a ton of chemistry with Zélie. And I hate Inan. Fuck Inan and his indecisiveness. Every time I saw his name in the chapter headers I was like ...can I just skip it? I didn't, tho. But in the end I did like it, and I'm going to read the sequel, how could I not after that ending??
